bedrooms are on the second floor 18'x24' the first floor is 18' x 32' kitchen and studio
area, the bath is 6'x 10'. The house is built on pilings directly over Jamaica Bay, the
property is part of a small colony of homes accessible by a two hundred foot boardwalk
over the tidal marshlands. Located in the heart of Gateway National Recreation Area,
easily accessible by the A train, 10 minutes from Kennedy Airport, 45 minutes from
Manhattan and 5 minutes. from Rockaway Beach, the best white sand beach in the world.
Ideal for boating, bird watching, fishing and crabbing. Nearby boat,(Smittys 718-945-2642
kayak rentals and estuary tours available. The neighborhood is an island & consists of
single family homes, a nice park with handball & tennis courts, a fishing station
where boats and motors can be rented. Within a 5 minute walk there is the Jamaica Bay
Wildlife Refuge. There have been 325 species of birds recorded at the Refuge through 1994.
Egrets, Night Heron, Oyster Catchers, Loons, Bittern, Glossy Ibis, Snow Geese and Plover
are just a few you will see. There is one queen one double and one single bed. The studio
has towels & sheets, however, they are not changed daily. There are also cooking
utensils, etc. and small grocery stores as well as a laundry mat within walking distance. |
